Dear Parents, One of the fundamental principles of Christian education at Salem Lutheran School's is the training of the "whole child." This means we attempt to provide activities that will develop a student's mind, body and soul. Jesus teaches that unless people feel good about themselves, they cannot feel good about others and in turn cannot learn and develop to their fullest potential. Most of all, we at Salem know how important it is for a student to know God's love and how HE sent His Son Jesus to save us. Life in the classroom is based upon this fact as we strive to grow in that faith and learn about the world around us. Children must become involved in order to learn. They must see and feel, taste and smell, listen and do! Becoming messy or dirty or wet or rumpled can be part of the learning process. Becoming involved often means noise and a lot of activity. A clean, quiet child may not necessarily be a learning child. An attempt is made to provide each child with a well-rounded learning experience and a wide range of learning activities that will better prepare them mentally, socially and spiritually for their life. Salem Lutheran School uses an integrated curriculum for Kindergarten which includes:
For your child to grow in these areas, he/she needs the support and encouragement of both teacher and parents. As partners working together, we can give this support and encouragement. We would like to have the opportunity to talk with you about your child's school needs, have you tour the school and visit the Kindergarten classrooms.
